A couple of days ago, I decided that I needed a prayer shawl to help me heal. I decided on this feather and fan pattern. I found some beautiful soft cotton that would be perfect. I began praying with my stitches and started knitting. I am only a few inches into the pattern, but already I can feel my heart beginning to heal. My shawl, my "Mom and Me" shawl, is helping me find calm.

I love your shawl and hope it truly helps you heal. It is a long process..I also lost my mom to cancer and it will be 3yrs on Dec 23 and I still miss her everyday. My healing began with a sweater and I hope that you get through things day by day. You will be in my thoughts and prayers! God Bless!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that your Mom has gone. I lost my Mom on Halloween Morning this last Oct. It is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Please know that it does get easier but never easy. cobber@sagensun.net

ReplyDeletePenny this is beautiful. I'm sure your mom loves it too.
ReplyDeletePenny, I am so sorry for your loss. A prayer shawl along with prayer will begin to bring healing to you. I believe that as you pray while making your shawl you will be comforted and when it is wrapped around you that you will feel your Mom's presence. May God help you heal and bring you many blessings.

ReplyDeletesorry for your loss- lovely pink shawl-
ReplyDeleteI am deeply saddened to hear about your mother's passing. Knitting that shawl and then wearing it will keep your Mom close to your heart where she resides. I lost my Mama suddenly last Aug and know the heartbreak you must feel. I think I will use your idea if that is ok, only I can't knit, I will crochet one. My heartfelt prayers for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern so much!!!
